Participants Laud Inaugural Canadian Alliance Conference and Trade Show
Event Provided Information on Canadian Travel Management Practices
Toronto, Ontario (March 24, 2005) -- Attendees of the first annual Canadian Alliance of Business Travel Conference and Trade Show are praising the event’s corporate travel buyer-focused format and overwhelmingly saying they would recommend Canadian Alliance events to colleagues. More than 60 delegates took part in the industry-leading event held earlier this month in Toronto, Ontario.
The Conference educational sessions encouraged dialogue between professionals and focused on topics that impact Canadian corporate travel management, such as online booking tools, auditing a T&E program, hotel relationships and procurement, and Canada/US border-crossing programs. The two-day educational and networking gathering was made possible by the support of conference sponsors Vision 2000 Travel Group and Sol Melia, and by Canadian Alliance annual sponsors Scotiabank and Continental Airlines.
“An event like this can be defined as a success when participants take home knowledge they can use and build relationships they can count on to bring value to their companies, and that’s exactly what these delegates are telling us in their reviews,” said Tanya Racz, Canadian Alliance president. “Additionally, attendees were impressed by the fact the Conference was truly buyer-focused.”
Among the more than 60 attendees were the following companies who exhibited in the Trade Show: A1 Worldwide Limousine, Business Travel Executive Magazine, Canada Border Services Agency, Enterprise Rent-A-Car Canada, SkyTeam, Vision 2000 Travel Group, and Worldspan.
Canadian Alliance member Donna Jones, Travel Manager Corporate Indirects, Fluor Canada, said the inaugural Canadian Alliance Conference and Trade Show “proved to be an extremely well planned event with knowledgeable and prepared speakers. The information presented was both pertinent and inspiring, leaving attendees with many concepts and tools to support their management program. As a new member, I look forward to future educational networking opportunities with the Canadian Alliance."
Robin Buzzeo, Director Corporate Travel, Taro Pharmaceuticals in the United States said, “I was very happy to learn the Canadian perspective of travel issues since we do have a Canadian office. This gives me insight into the cultural and industrial differences I need to address.”
